: The batteries included are likely to be past their expiration date.
: Since the battery is built in, the battery compartment may be dirty due to liquid leakage, etc.
: Even if there is nothing wrong with the battery compartment, it may not work because more than 25 years have passed since it was sold.
: Two LR44 batteries are required for each Tamagotchi.
