じゃばらとは、ゆずやカボス、橙などと同種類の柑橘（かんきつ）類。
果汁が豊富で、香りや酸味が強く独特の風味を持つ、和歌山県原産の大変希少価値が高い果実です。じゃばらには、疲労回復に役立つビタミンやカロチンが含まれ、特に果皮にはナリルチン（フラボノイドの一種）が、柑橘類の中で群を抜いた含有量があるという研究結果がでています。
