今年バンド結成20周年を迎えるUNISON SQUARE GARDEN。20 周年のタイミングで20枚目となるシングルをリリース。
昨年4月に9枚目となるオリジナルアルバム「Ninth Peel」をリリースし、オリコン/ビルボードアルバム週間ラインキング1位を獲得。同年秋にはシングル「いけないfool logic」をリリース。ツアーとリリースとコンスタントな活動を続けているUNISON SQUARE GARDENが、バンド結成日となる7月24日にバンドキャリア初となるベストアルバム「SUB MACHINE, BEST MACHINE」をリリースし、同日より3日間日本武道館にてライブを開催。さらに対バンツアーや9月からはベストアルバムを引っさげた全国をまわるオールタイムベストツアーを行うなど、20周年もライブバンドらしい活動が続く。
そんな中、10月より放送が始まるTVアニメのオープニング主題歌を担当することが決定。
